The other available powertrain is the self-charging hybrid RX 450h, which is equipped with the Lexus Hybrid Drive. It includes an Atkinson cycle 3.5L V6 engine, which is paired with powerful electric motors and a precise continuously variable transmission. These state-of-the-art elements combine to provide 308 net horsepower paired with an outstanding fuel efficiency of 7.9L / 100km city/highway combined. For comparison, the MDX’s V6 uses 12.3L/100km city/9.4 highway for a 10.8 L/100km combined rating.

Acura says that the MDX will soon have a Type S variant with slightly more power the 450h, but this model’s availability is still uncertain as it is still in the “future vehicles” of Acura’s website.

The 2022 Lexus RX gives drivers more choice and refinement

A selection of 17 model and trim configurations is offered with the 2022 Lexus RX lineup. It includes short wheelbase models as well as the three-row RX 350 L and RX 450h L, letting drivers choose which RX is the best for their needs.
