2022 Lexus NX: More of everything we love and a new plug-in hybrid

Lexus unveiled the all-new 2022 Lexus last week, a completely redesigned compact luxury SUV that incorporates what current Lexus NX owners love about their vehicle while improving styling, technology, infotainment and efficiency.

Under the redesigned hood of the 2022 Lexus NX are three powertrain options including an all-new 2.4-liter turbo engine that delivers 275 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. This is a significant gain in power for the gasoline engine in the NX which at the same time becomes one of the most powerful models in its class for an entry-level model.

That said, the 2022 Lexus NX engine lineup adds a brand new plug-in hybrid version that is undoubtedly the star of this new version. Powering the Lexus NX 450h, this engine produces 305 horsepower while offering an impressive range in electric driving of 58 kilometers. That’s more than the other plug-in hybrid luxury compact SUVs in the segment today, much more. The Lexus NX 2022 is also entitled to a hybrid version, the NX 350h, which combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with an electric drive for a total output of 239 horsepower and a fuel consumption rating of just 6.5 litres per 100 kilometres.

The PHEV and turbo versions will be entitled to an F-Sport option package that adds an adjustable suspension to accentuate the ride in all situations. Additionally, F-Sport models feature a redesigned cabin dominated by a massive 14-inch screen with a new infotainment system. Even the stock display, at 9.8 inches, offers an improved experience for the new owner.

In terms of safety, the Lexus Safety System + now offers an automatic steering system with collision avoidance that can steer the vehicle and brake automatically to avoid danger. The LSS + system also offers a collision avoidance system with vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists when turning left at intersections.

In short, the Lexus NX 2022 is everything we love about the NX with more comfort, better technology and better efficiency. The NX 2022 is also entitled to a new Lexus logo on the rear that will be featured on all future models.
