What Is Remote Connect?

Remote Connect is a Lexus connected service that links your vehicle to the Lexus app on your compatible smartphone. With an active trial or subscription, you can remotely start your Lexus, lock and unlock the doors, check vehicle status and more.

For the 2027 NX, Lexus says Remote Connect has been optimized for even quicker access. The service is 5G network dependent, and a 10-year trial will be included with the 2027 model year.

How Remote Start Helps on Cold Mornings

Remote start is the feature most drivers think of first, and for good reason. A few taps in the Lexus app can start your NX before you step outside.

The latest generation of the Lexus Interface, which the 2027 NX will carry, expands what Remote Connect can do. Lexus says Guests with an active Remote Connect trial or subscription can control climate settings and schedule start times through the Lexus app. That means you can set the cabin temperature you want and plan your start time around your morning routine.

Here is how that can play out on a typical winter weekday:

• Schedule a start time so the NX is running before you leave for work.
• Set your climate from the app so the cabin is warming while you get ready.
• Check vehicle status to confirm the doors are locked after you head back inside.
• Lock or unlock remotely if you forgot to lock up or need to let someone in.

Other Things You Can Do From the Lexus App

Remote Connect covers more everyday tasks than many drivers expect. The latest Lexus Interface lets you use Remote Connect commands to control the headlights, hazard lights and trunk access.

The 2027 NX will also offer an available Digital Key. It lets compatible smart devices act as your vehicle key for access, starting and driving. You can also share access with other drivers through compatible digital wallets. Digital Key requires an active Remote Connect trial or subscription.

The Connected Services Lineup on the 2027 NX

Remote Connect will be part of a broader set of connected services on the 2027 NX. Each one has its own trial length.

All of these services are 5G network dependent. With Drive Connect active, you can say “Hey Lexus” to adjust the temperature, navigation, audio and more without taking your hands off the wheel.

Built for Winter Beyond the App

Remote start gets your morning off to a warm start, and the rest of the 2027 NX will be ready for the drive. Every 2027 NX grade will pair a hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrain with all-wheel drive. Lexus says its new electronic AWD system uses revised rear motor control to stay active during launch, wheel slip, cornering and straight-line driving, which improves stability on low-traction surfaces such as snow.

The 2027 NX will also bring a 14-inch Lexus Interface touchscreen and Lexus Safety System+ 4.0 to every grade. A standard Drive Recorder adds built-in dashcam function using the vehicle’s exterior cameras.
