Here are Three Safety Minded Technologies that Equip the 2022 Lexus NX

The Lexus NX was reworked from the ground up for the 2022 model year and many new features have been added.

Risk Avoidance Emergency Steer Assist

The 2022 Lexus NX is equipped with the risk avoidance emergency steer assist, which is a technology that helps you avoid a collision more efficiently than other similar systems which act only over the brakes. The system in the NX takes control of the steering when it detects a collision is imminent and it tries to find an open space towards which it can direct the vehicle in order to avoid or at least minimise the collision.

Three types of AWD

Depending on which version of the 2022 Lexus NX you choose, you will benefit from one of three different all-wheel drive systems. The first one is a part-time system that uses sensors to detect when the drive wheels are slipping and a hydraulic clutch pack that can be engaged immediately to power the rear wheels. The second system is of the constant type. This one allows for a distribution of the torque towards the wheels that feature the best traction in order to pull the vehicle out of a dangerous situation. The last system is the one used on the hybrid models. Instead of having a physical connection between the front and rear axles, it uses the electric motors placed in the rear in order to provide the benefits of AWD, even when the vehicle is running on battery power only.

Blind Spot monitor with rear cross traffic alert

The 2022 Lexus NX comes standard with the blind spot monitoring system and the rear cross traffic alert. This technology is useful in a crowded parking lot where you have to back out of your space while your visibility to the sides is blocked by the other vehicles next to you. When you’re are reversing and a vehicle is detected coming from the side, an alert is issued so that you can stop before the other vehicle hits yours.
